Foot

The foot is one of the most intensely used parts of the body. To adapt to upright gait, the human foot has developed a complex system of muscles and ligaments referred to as the longitudinal and transverse arches. In this complex system, the entire weight of the body is borne by three main parts of the foot: the heel, the ball of the great toe, and the ball of the little toe. Uneven distribution of weight across the foot frequently leads to problems in these areas. In addition, a foot deformity can be the underlying cause of knee, hip or back pain.

The most common clinical pictures are described in detail here.
